When Communication lines are down; including cell phone, land line, and the internet, ham radio is up and running. On April 9, 2009 South County experienced a communication failure that affected our 911 system. With the help of Amateur Radio our City was prepared to receive and deliver emergency assistance requested from citizens.   If you are interested in obtaining your ham radio license please go to http://www.baears.com to learn more, or attend our monthly Morgan Hill Amateur Radio Emergency Service meetings every 3rd Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Police Department.
